4. What cartridges have no recycling value?

One thing you can count on for certain is that your supporters, despite their good intentions, will send you cartridges that have no value. They want to contribute, but quite often they do not remember which cartridges are recyclable and which ones are not, so they send them in anyway. You will need to sort through the cartridges and remove the no value Cartridges before you ship your cartridges. The biggest challenge to recycling is keeping the cost of shipping down and under control. Shipping cartridges that have no value eventually hurts everyone involved. "No Value" cartridges come in two types.

Type one: ineligible, non-electronic inkjet cartridges:
There are some cartridges that have no value because they have no electronics in them and they are just plastic containers. EPSON is the best example. None of the EPSON cartridges are recyclable, despite the fact that EPSON is a very popular brand. The reason the remanufacturers don't purchase used EPSON cartridges is because it is cheaper to simply pay a few pennies for a new plastic shell, than having to pay you and us, plus shipping, testing and cleaning which makes used Epson cartridges cost prohibitive and therefore non-recyclable.

Type one: no value inkjet cartridges (other than EPSON - all types)
